ANOTHER DAY IN PARADISE!

A DAY AT THE INTER-CONTINENTAL TAHITI - SEPTEMBER 2004

The last day of our Tahitian 2004 holidays was mostly spent at the Tahiti Intercontinental Beachcomber Hotel. Relax and preparing for the roughly eleven hour flight back from Papeete to Santiago, Chile, with a stop at Easter Island. Great time!

"EARLY MORNING - The view towards Moorea is simply fantastic, and in the morning the clouds do not yet cover the island..."

"LAWN - On the way to the beach pool"

"BEACH POOL almost only for us. Everybody else is at the Pool Bar..."

"MAIN POOL"

"FISH BASIN"

"TIKIS - Gods representations! It is around 1400-1450 that the art of sculpture made its appearance with the first stone Tikis, most often found in the form of statues. The Tiki is a male character, with the arms folded down, the legs bent, the head stuck on his body, no neck, and particularly emphasized genitalia. They were first discovered on very old petroglyphs, and those painted stones often showed faces with big rounded eyes, the original representation of Ma'ohi gods"

"SUNSET with Moorea at the background"

POLYNESIAN LUAU - Till the next time..."

Hi everybody.
Angela, that's a sign of your good taste. The piña coladas were perfect...
Thanks Kalyan;
Isabella, trust me, the place is even more beautiful than it shows in the film. Some years ago I saw the original play in London. Not particularly interesting...
Andrea, it's an easy decision for you to get there...
Monica, you have also some pieces of paradise close to you. I saw your Buzios pictures...
Dsole, I’m sorry for the rain. You should have followed your compatriots. We're having stunning sunny days in Lisbon, which of course is crowded with Spaniards, as always during Easter...

Hi Zsolt,
Thanks for the visit; you're cheerfully welcome to get lost in the jungle (and its annexes - the 70s & 80s and the 90s)... Enjoy!
