Thanks once again to all those who were kind enough to let comments on my 08.08.08 post! I hope to save some time to get to your blogs next week. Hopefully…
This post is my annual exception dedicated to the travel at home: long weekend in Algarve! Hope you enjoy!

I think I am a mermaid because I really love water. A lot! These pics are just awesome. Now I must find my way to the ocean. I do actually live near the Mississippi River and a lot of lakes but I still have a special fondness for the ocean. :o)

Lovely pics that enchanted my day. Thank you.

I'm sold! I can imagine myself spending a lot of happy time in a place like that. The water is glorious, and all the colors are fabulous. The buildings so interesting to see when one tears oneself away from the water. Lovely post!

Difficult to find better? Coming from Greece, I beg to differ (hehe), but I have to admit it looks pretty good. The fourth photo down is awesome! Actually, I'd love to visit Algarve. Maybe next summer :-)

Beautiful pictures, Gil! The blue is fantastic and my favorite color too.

I never made it to the Algarve coast, but my daughter was there and called me up on the phone just to tell me how beautiful it is there!:)

In seeing the hotel swimming-pools I thought of Abano Terme hotels which have four or five pools with water at different temperatures!

Enchanting photos Gil! In particular, what a wonderful blue article as I liked everytime. And your blue t-shirt suits perfectly with the flowing of this article:)
End of my favorite month August, and yet no new article from you.
Eagerly waiting for your news, Gil.
As for myself, I am still talking about my vacation in Ayvalik. Come to CrossRoads to read my other postings, I think you might be interested in.

Kindest and all my best,

Nihal

Hi everybody. Thanks for taking your time to comment here. I truly enjoy!

Titania,
I also love the Ocean, but hope you won’t be to close to it now that Gustav seems to be landing ashore! All the best!

Louise,
That’s why I say it’s difficult to find better!

Azer,
I’m also a Cutileiro fan; great sculptor always…

Lyliane,
Da Balaia est toujours là; mais cette fois on aura un autre programme…

Lara,
It’s time to get closer to the sunshine… ;))

Mariposa,
I’ll check! Depending on what you said on the glorious F.C.Porto and on Port wine, things will be accurate or not… ;))

Kyh,
Not Riviera, Algarve! For one who has been in the Riviera and in the Algarve, there is no comparison: Algarve is much better… ;)))

Susupetal,
I was born there, so no posts… ;)
Actually you may see some lousy 1995 pictures here. It was my last time there and when I used video cameras rather than photo cameras… ;)
But Lyliane has a wonderful reportage that you may find here! Enjoy!

Alice SG,
Quite relaxing, except that the nightlife is too busy… ;)))

Tinsie,
You know I love Greece and the Greek Isles, but do not compare either the beaches or the grilled fish… You’ll see when you’ll come here! The water is warmer in Greece, I concede… ;))

Sue,
Having lived in Switzerland for some time, it would have been natural for you to come here; at least it was natural for me to go to Switzerland… ;))

Shionge,
You have a must destination to add to your list! ;))

Daniel,
Tentations faciles à satisfaire… ;))

Luísa,
Olá. Pois é, este ano quem cá veio foi a Joanika… Vamos ver como se arranjam as coisas para o ano…

Lisa,
Relaxing if you wish! Busy if you want! You choose: Great!

Ron,
You’re welcome!

Helène,
Bleu, vraiment bleu!

Ash,
Thanks!

Cabacurl,
Don’t think the Australian winter is that bad… ;)

Pietro,
OK, frigidarium, tepidarium, calidarium… ;))

Nikkicrumpet,
You’re welcome!

Leo,
Not a fan of seas? How’s that possible? ;))

Lilli,
Everything is nice on that hotel…

Jo,
Congratulations! Great to see William here!

Marie,
Sorry that you can’t enjoy the sun as before… ;(

Cuckoo,
No wonder; the Goans copied it from the Portuguese… lol!

Gizelle,
Thanks for the Award! I’m flattered!

Dick,
You’re quite right!

Julia,
No ‘jing, unfortunately…
No need to be in DP to blog!

Dalicia,
Rather All Blue… ;))

Alice,
Pas seulement des golfeurs… ;))

Pryiank,
What else, actually?

April,
Polo… not Tee… ;))

Paz,
You’re welcome! Direct flight… ;)

Pat,
My pleasure!

JoAnn,
Thanks! You’ve been everywhere, Algarve included…
Blogger has some peculiarities… ;))

Neva,
Addy,
Start packing!

Lakshmi,
Need a beach season every year, otherwise winter would be awful…

Analia,
You’re welcome!

Bob,
It’s a great statue!

Juka,
You choose whatever you want to do… or do nothing… ;)

Wendy,
For you, it’s time to start packing… ;)

Peter,
Thanks! One day we’ll make a stroll in Paris… ;)

Nihal,
Thanks! Loved to see your Ayvalik posts! Too busy my August…

Rune,
It’s a shame! Why don’t you start packing? ;))

Solitaire,
I’m sure you’re enjoying it as much as you can… ;))

Anonymous said...

Lisa,
This pool isn't that bad... ;)
On Blogtrotter, we'll have two more Kos posts, then Crete and Mykonos... In real life, Turkish Riviera, but that will be posted only next year... ;))

One of my best friends' boyfriend is from Lagos, I believe. They both went to Lisbon last summer and had a great time.

Give Lisa the sea. I will take the pool BY THE SEA. :-)

Ming,
I used to spend my summer holidays in Lagos (Meia-Praia, the beach) in the 70s and early 80s, and that was great!!

Lil' Boozie said...

Wow, fabulous photos of the Algarve & of Lagos.. I took a trip to Portugal earlier this year with a few friends, and Lagos was one of our stops. I immediately fell in love. We recently started a travel-related blog of our own called "3 Troopin Travelers". If you get a chance, feel free to swing by - Happy Travels!

Best,
Suz (a.k.a. Lil' Boozie)

Suz,
Glad to read that you enjoyed Algarve. Lagos was one of my youth favourite destinations. Actually spend many holidays there since the early 70s through the 80s...
