The last day of our Tahitian 2004 holidays was mostly spent at the Tahiti Intercontinental Beachcomber Hotel. Relax and preparing for the roughly eleven hour flight back from Papeete to Santiago, Chile, with a stop at Easter Island. Great time!

"TIKIS - Gods representations! It is around 1400-1450 that the art of sculpture made its appearance with the first stone Tikis, most often found in the form of statues. The Tiki is a male character, with the arms folded down, the legs bent, the head stuck on his body, no neck, and particularly emphasized genitalia. They were first discovered on very old petroglyphs, and those painted stones often showed faces with big rounded eyes, the original representation of Ma'ohi gods"
