Anonymous said...: The MoMA is one of my favourite museums in the world. During years (when I was travelling to NYC almost every month, sometimes twice a month) I thought of becoming an international member of the museum; never made it and now I’m getting to the city hardly ever… ;( But anytime I get there I always pay a visit to the MoMA! This time I decided to capture some of its masterpieces… Hope you like them!; 27/7/08 23:17

julia said...: Lucky photography was allowed. When a Jackson Pollock was purchased here years ago the discussion was never ending and for good reason!! Saw one recently at the same time as a Turner to Monet exhibit with some special works on loan from the other side of the globe.
I am getting more and more interested in the Camino de Santiago (on a shoe string) perhaps its become passe but it must be a crazy undertaking.; 29/7/08 06:03

My favorite section is actually on the 3rd floor where they have the mid-century Danish and American furniture, the modern German glasswares, iPod and other new inventions from the last 100 years.; 29/7/08 07:44

Sally said...: I too LOVE MOMA. My favourite part? It's the room which, right there, is the history of Cubism. Starting with Picasso'c les demoiselles d'Avignon (not Avignon the city but a brothel in Avignon St, Barcelona) and leading into the Picasso /Braques "cubism - off" all hung chronologically. And the Matisse which you showed, hanging on the grand stairwell.; 30/7/08 12:00

It’s difficult to compare, as the Louvre has no modern art and the MoMA starts by the end of the 19th century. Anyhow, it’s a great museum, if I understand what you mean!!
